Solve the equation
2. Try it yourself
Turn a student’s mistake into their next breakthrough. Clear feedback, focused practice. You have the final say.

3(x + 2) = 15. Multiply each term by 3. 3x + 6 = 15. x = 3.
Student work, feedback and practice side by side. Built around your teaching.

From a handwritten answer to a clear next step. Everything stays connected to the work in front of you.

Keep the original work beside your feedback. Review the exact step that needs attention.
Open the marked line in the student’s solution. It takes you straight to the explanation, with the original work still in view.

Adjust the language, add context and approve the feedback before a student sees it.
Edit the explanation in your own words and select Approve. Student preview shows your version, so you can check the message before sharing.

Follow the explanation with a focused exercise that tests the same idea.
Open Practice and try the follow-up problem. An incorrect answer gives a hint; a correct answer confirms the next step.
Add the work you already collect.
Read the feedback exactly as a learner would.
Review every explanation before sharing.
Keep the tools you know. Give every assignment a clearer next step.
A clear explanation and one focused task. So your student can take the next step independently.
The 3 belongs to both terms inside the brackets. Multiply each one before you continue.
Classroom examples
Follow a classroom scenario from the first mistake to the next independent attempt.
A learner knows how to solve an equation, but multiplies only the first term inside the brackets.
The answer looks plausible, but the mistake starts one line earlier.
Keep the original solution open, explain the distributive step and approve the wording.
Offer a similar equation so the learner can use the idea without copying the answer.
3(x + 2) = 15
3x + 2 = 15
3(x + 2) = 3x + 6
Multiply both terms inside the brackets by 3. Then subtract 6 and divide by 3: x = 3.
2(x + 4) = 18
The teacher begins with the learner’s written solution, rather than the final answer alone. Highlighting the second line makes the misconception specific: the outside multiplier must apply to every term.
The explanation can be shortened or rewritten before approval. In the student preview, the learner sees the reviewed explanation followed by 2(x + 4) = 18. The next attempt checks whether the idea transfers to a different equation.
